Dear Mom, I Crashed a Scooter in Hvar

Dear Mom,

I should have listened to you, I’m sorry that I didn’t. Remember that time that I crashed the pink scooter when I was a kid? Yes, the “Barbie Bike.” I think I broke my wrist that time. Well, no injuries this time but the crash was way worse. I was trying to pull over to let a big truck pass and, well, watch the video below… I am so lucky that the only side effects were a tiny hole in the top of my right shoe and a sore right middle toe. That was really scary. I rode for six more hours after the crash. I will try not to rent a scooter again! I was wearing a helmet and riding with friends, just like you taught me.

Love,

Anthony

P.S. I was honest and told the large Croatian man at the rental company that I scraped the bike. He didn’t crush me, only charged me 200 kuna extra, approximately 30 dollars.

Uhhhh, I’m so dumb. The good news is that Croatia is my favorite stop so far, below are a few pictures to show why. There will be plenty more of these and more stories soon!

ha ha! That was funny! So glad you are ok though. Maybe try not to video yourself while on the scooter. Put phone on your helmet?
Anyway, have I told you how jelaous I am of your adventures? So happy you get to do this!!

Yikes! I’m glad you are ok and got by with minimal injuries! It looks beautiful there.

Chris and I crashed a moped on our honeymoon; thank goodness traffic in the Bahamas drives on the left or we’d have driven into oncoming traffic! Renting those bikes can be tricky, too. Making sure you get a good, sound vehicle is paramount! (Our brakes were faulty.)

    Again, glad you’re good!

Ohhh yeah, I remember hearing about that, ehhhhh! Thanks Sarah, all is well, I hope the same for you all!
